Leaving Oaxaxa

Definitely signs of gang activity, but never a problem, not once. I think there is more gang activity in LA than Oaxaca.
An old paleontological site off the road where I was walking. Iguana stew...Sorry Vegis, local hospitality laws prevail...I was offer this local stew, somewhat analagous to squirel food in rural us. Iguana stew was/is eaten when times are tough. The food, like the times, is very tough, rough skin, not much meat, cruchy bones that you also eat inside. The tomatoe base, not so bad!
Oaxacan fruit and chocolates, indigenous style!
Christian graffiti...there was so much of it...buildings on the faces of rocks, bible verses everywhere, started to think it was speaking to me. Unfortunately I had very little juice left on my batteries, and with almost no money at all, I couldnt replace them to take many pictures. Home brew...Mescal bootleg.

Description: Still very mountainous, the road from Oaxaca City to the coast was downhill, with environs and terrain changing drastically every 10-20k. Many wild experiences here, from collecting crickets for food to staying with a former Pentacostal minister, now brothel owner who gave me food, tea, and shelter for the night in a van filled with condoms and ganja (sorry if you dont like it folks, this is the real deal). Stranded in the middle of nowhere, in the rain, the women helped me, treated me with kindness, as I listened to their stories and prayers. The mountains turn to a coastal plane further down the road. Frigid nights turn balmy with hotter days than I have ever experienced in my life. Walking from 12ish to 4ish, I would feel l I was going to pass out, so I often walked silent nights and empty highways in the company of the moon.
Location: Oaxaca State
