A church in Santa Rosa, El Salvador, just before the border with Honduras. Environmental protests take the form of mural art in Santa Rosa, a former hotbed of Marxist support in El Salvador. Churches are the only places where faith is publically and openly declared in this part of the world where secular thinking is not the expected norm.
Bus paint jobs also expressing spiritual/religious beliefs. Cool, but a step down from the flamboyance of buses in Guatemala.
Armed guards posted at every small store sometimes convey a sense opposite of what they are intending. Instead of feeling more secure, the guards are a constant reminder of the perceptions of the people who regard this area as unsafe. The beginning of a new series...a tribute to the dogs I meet on the road... Me.
Where I slept the night after the ummm...incident the police officer having fun with my camera...no really, give it back :) writing out an "official" report on a piece of printer paper, no stamp, just a signature.

The capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, where I rested, got my bearings before continuing onward. Some very interesting stories in this town, following a recent coup d'etat and elections, some say rigged by the United States Gov.
