Gillian is going to school in BC and is doing study abroad program examining Sociology, Political Science, Biology and the Environment, and Global Citizenship, amongst many other things. She is reading A Course in Miracles, and with a beautiful mind, we had a great time discussing and setting intentions for the next step right here in our lives. Hampus....what can I say...My Swedish friend! From a cold land with a warm heart! Sary, my fellow pilgrim...Sary ran the language school and hostel next to the other language school where I was talking classes in Xela. A professor of Electrical Engineering, she likes to travel, and to walk contemplating spirituality having completed El Camino de Santiago in Spain. Sary hosted me for a few days, gratis, gracias Sary! Check out her website at http://www.learn2speakspanish.com/school_of_spanish.htm
Juan Carlos! My host in Xela and head of the Eureka Language school, where I attended classes for a week. Dont spend 5 months in uni classes where you wont practice and most likely wont learn alot. Guatemala is THE place to learn Spanish. With the plethora of schools, the prices are very competitive, even by Guatemalan standards. Rooms cost about $5 per night, or you can rent a room in a great place for anywhere from $60 to $300 per month. At Eureka language school I received top quality instruction, equivalent to 2 semesters of Spanish, in 5 days! http://spanishateureka.com/ After a long walk you can sleep anywhere! Leon, my Couchsurfing host at Lago de Atitlan, in Panajuachel, at the top of Volcan de San Pedro.
